At La Bohemia, in Castellón, we filmed comedian Juanjo Albiñana's show with Blackmagic 6K cameras to produce content for his social media. It is a multi-camera job, like the ones we do for event streaming. Juanjo is also the comedian behind our tailor-made comedy and stand-up service.

Blackmagic 6K cameras among the seats
The cameras were on tripods among the audience, each with its own monitor, to get shots from different points of the room. A 6K camera leaves room to crop in the edit: if you shoot at high resolution, you can take a 1080 × 1920 vertical from a horizontal shot without enlarging the image.

«¡Habrá que madurar, bro!» at La Bohemia
The screens in the room advertised the show «¡Habrá que madurar, bro!». La Bohemia has a stage with a truss structure, lights and screens on both sides: in the picture, the comedian stands out in the light against the background, with the audience in front.

What to keep in mind when filming stand-up for social media
- More than one camera: a wide shot to set the scene and a close one for faces and gestures, which is what works on a phone.
- Resolution with headroom to take verticals from a horizontal shot without enlarging the image.
- Good sound: in stand-up the words are everything, and muffled audience laughter or a microphone that cuts out ruins the video.
- The stage lighting, designed for the camera too and not just for the room.
- Cameras placed where they don't bother the audience or block the stage.
We explain how a multi-camera recording or broadcast is organised in how to do multi-camera streaming of an event.
