AV for the UN-Habitat expert group meeting in Cuenca

On 26 and 27 October 2026 we worked with Nexus Audiovisual on the technical set-up of the Reunión de Grupo de Expertos (Expert Group Meeting) of UN-Habitat and the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Cuenca. We installed the equipment for a streamed videoconference: 55" monitors, sound and a system of 22 conference units spread across the seats at the table. It is the kind of set-up we do in our conference AV equipment service.

The event: experts in urban-rural planning

The meeting was titled «Planificando el territorio urbano-rural. Herramientas para abordar la equidad territorial» (Planning the urban-rural territory. Tools to address territorial equity) and was held in collaboration with the UIMP. The participants sat at a large U-shaped table, each with their own seat and name card, and the session was also followed remotely.

What we set up

  • 22 conference units, with a microphone at each seat.
  • 55" monitors placed on the floor inside the U and tilted towards the table.
  • Sound for the room.
  • Streamed videoconference: the equipment to connect the room with those following the meeting remotely. If you want to know more about broadcasts, read how to stream an event with multiple cameras.

Why a conference unit at every seat

In a working meeting everyone speaks, not just whoever chairs it. With one microphone per seat nobody has to wait to be handed a handheld one, and both the room and those following remotely can hear every participant. If you are preparing a day with part of the audience joining remotely, our guide to hybrid events, in person and online may help.

What to tell us for a set-up like this

  • How many seats there are at the table and how many people will speak.
  • Whether anyone will speak or follow it remotely, and on which platform.
  • What the room is like: the shape of the table, where the main screen goes and where the control desk can go.
  • The set-up and test times, so that everything is ready before the first participant arrives.
